LPT: If you plan on doing something to better yourself, just to it and don't tell anyone.

Last October, I made the commitment to start going to the gym on a consistent basis. I kept it private, not telling my friends/roommates, because I wanted my personally growth. I had a routine going on. Dining halls for dinner with a fixed diet. Gym at night. But soon, my roommate began to question why i was gone at night time. That's when the roommate knew I started going to the gym. He began to tell other friends. Friends would respond in laughter when they hear the news.

One day. We decided to grab dinner. Traditionally, I would reject because they would usually suggest places that I would find unfit for the diet I was on at the time. When they agreed to go to said dining hall, they realize that I had a fixed diet. Then came the criticism. My friends would criticize my diet of chicken breast, broccoli, and carbs was unhealthy for me, that I need to change it up. Friends would make fun of me for going to my everyday dining hall. They would make jokes if I was eating at a different facility.

I'm not an overweight person, thus I really shouldn't to have announced my fitness journey from the beginning. I understand that responses varies. But my experience made me realize that certain things are meant to be private.
