[LPT REQUEST] How to apply for a job that is in a totally different field from your previous work?

I am a frontliner in my current job which is heavy in customer handling. I have handled a lot of systems related to the job. Most of the time, my location is the choice for test run of new systems so I get to experience and learn how systems work before everybody else. I then provide feedback on how the system should be improved, the errors and bugs encountered before they are implemented bankwide. As much as systems are in place, there are still chores that are done manually through Excel which gives me an opportunity to understand the basic formulas of how the bank balances it's daily transaction.

The job I'm applying for would require me to conduct analysis on business problems and provide automated solutions, provide technical assistance to system users, coordinate test plans and programming activities, etc. I think it's a help desk of some sort.

While it's not programming per se, I don't know how I could translate my previous work experience as a system user into the job I'm applying for considering I do not have a degree in IT and programming.
