LPT Request: How to tell friends they're being scammed by MLM schemes without hurting their feelings?

I'm pretty sure my school tried to get all the 12 years olds involved in some MLM scheme.

They randomly held an assembly(entire school meet in the hall). And they had set up these desks on the table with some bizarre energy drink. The principal started telling us about his friend and how his friend is looking for new ventures. The principal told us that although the school has more then enough money they would love to give bonuses all around (I'm guessing that part was to get the teachers to push the students into doing it).

Everyone in my ear shot just kept repeating "What the fuck?". And then it happened. A fucking mascot of a duck walks into the fucking hall holding a energy drink. We were laughing so much it still is one of the greatest 15 minutes I've ever had. The principal gets everyone from the front row (Around 40 people) to walk upto the stage and take a form to give to their parents. The form was basically asking the parents to buy energy drinks from them for $20 and re-sell them for $30.

Meanwhile the duck is doing this break dancing up and down the hall to keep us distracted while he talks to a bunch of them. Everything finally calms down and he resumes his speech as the students go back to their seats. Randomly a kid held up a £20 note and said i'll take one. This kid was my cousin who later told me that the principal gave him the money and told him what to do. If he refused he would get detention. My uncle was friends with the principal and was also at this assembly as he's a history teacher. He's standing to my right and his face has completely dropped because he's watching his kid randomly give the principal £20. Everything cools down and we're excused while we're all still laughing.

One week later my uncle is at our Sunday BBQ and i haven't seen him all week and then he tells the story. The principal had tried to get my uncle fired because he confronted him about what he was doing. The principal attempted to extort £200 out of him for some energy drinks. This was on the last day of school (Easter break). When we got back the principal was no longer there and the assistant principal had taken over. They wouldn't tell us why but his name came up in the paper and apparently he had taken massive amounts of loans and tried to invest in these energy drinks.

My uncle lost a friend and I met a guy dressed as a duck. Some people are just stupid and they'll refuse to believe you no matter what you say.
