LPT: Save your resume as a PDF before sending it out. This guarantees the layout, structure, typography to be completely consistent for all parties to view, and no one will have issues opening it.

  1. Install MiKTeX (free, works on Windows, Mac, Linux...)
  2. Install TeXstudio (free, works on Windows, Mac, Linux...)

There is no step 3, it's not that complex. There is also no further configuration required. There might even be a bundle somewhere with both MiKTeX and TeXstudio combined to make it just 1 step. It's really no more difficult than installing anything else.

I've suggested LaTeX to literal computer novices who have at least managed to install it unassisted, even if they failed to work out how to use it. Another guy in this thread replied to you saying he tested installing it and it was easy.

If you can't work out how to use LaTeX then I totally understand that, it can be complicated and isn't for everyone, but if you can't even install LaTeX without someone holding you're hand then you are seriously lacking in rudimentary computer skills.
