LPT Some of the highest paying jobs are trades, not college educated. If you have the knack to work with your hands, go to trade school instead of uni.

but for every tradie who earns good money there are 2 or 3 or more who live pay cheque to pay cheque.

I think it's more than 2 or 3 more who live pay day to pay day. I'm a plumber and earn 39.75$/hr, as do every one of my co-workers. So we each take home 1,200 to 1,600$ every friday on a normal week(varies because of overtime anything before 7AM or after 3:30PM or saturday is time and a half)(health insurance premiums and retirement fund contributions are 100% covered by the employer not take out of our wage). Out of my department I'm the only one who's not living cheque to cheque. My coworkers think I'm mister money bags even though we all earn exactly the same amount. One of the guys just got an inheritance from his wife's father dying, paid off his truck and jet skiis and immediately bought a new 70,000$ toyota truck and 2 more jet skies and a snowmobile on credit and now has even less money every week.
