LPT: Unless she explicitly asks you to, do NOT get any woman in your life a Christmas present related to cooking or cleaning.

Creating strawman arguments as if normal and reasonable people are going that far? I identify myself as a huge feminist and I love to cook when I’m at home during the summer. Cooking is a great hobby that is loved by all sorts of people. But, associating it with cleaning is actually you just reinforcing gender roles that cooking and cleaning go together. One is a hobby, one is a chore. They just can’t be categorized together at all…sure, lots of people enjoy picking up because of the way you feel after when you are looking around and existing in your clean home. Lots of adults take pride in keeping their home clean and may find tidying up to be relaxing. But nobody would see a spilled soda or mud tracked into the house and be like fuck yeah I can’t wait to clean this!! Lemme go get the mop, this is such an enjoyable hobby! Doing dishes and laundry can’t be a hobby in the way that cooking can. I guess the whole point of this comment is that there’s an important distinction between cooking and cleaning. Sometimes cooking gifts can be great, mainly if they have expressed interest in certain tools or items they want (hobby). Cleaning supplies or something that’s used by the whole family, even if it’s practical like a new washing machine - horrible gift. Literally so sad and impersonal.
