While its the popular term luggage is almost never lost. The airline knows where your luggage is 99% of the time. It just doesnt make the flight thus won't be at your destination. A major cause of luggage not being on your flight is the passengers fault. Not the airlines not tsa not the ramp agents. There is a reason they say be at the airport so many hours prior to your flight leaving. 1 so you can make it through security and 2 so your bag can also make it through its security and then make it to the airlines and then the plane. If you arrive at the airport 30 minutes prior you can still make your flight but its a gamble weather or bot the bag will make it.
