LSD.

There's no need to be rude, and if you'd like to "lawyer" me then here are easy examples.

the promotion of LSD as something people should... share in camaraderie like wine at a dinner party.

No one is advocating this, for one, and secondly this would be pretty "wanton". LSD isn't a casual substance, so sharing it "like wine" and in a party setting would both constitute and imply irresponsible use.

Furthermore, the 60's and 70's -- the period in which you had used it, and on which you ground your credibility -- WERE a time of reckless LSD consumption. That's relevant because it's your reference point for the experiences of others, as well as (implicitly) a model for what they purportedly advocate, as shown above.

As for the condescension and pretension:

You did your LSD. Now you can say you've been there, done that, and move on -

That's called patronizing, which you have clearly doubled down on since your last post. This is a thing you do and if you can't infer it from your own tone, well, ok then. You can call it a mirage, but it's something you might perceive yourself with a little respect and self-awareness.

The point is that while LSD's use still varies, your own experiences are not as representative of others' experiences as you would believe. Personally, I agree with you about its risks and definitely don't advocate its recreational use, and I would never recommend it for just anyone unless supervised by a trained and licensed therapist. Your own descriptors (frightening hallucinations, feeling trapped in the trip) are fairly consistent with the paranoia that can result for somebody who is a bad fit, for whatever circumstances and reasons, and likewise for somebody exposed to another's bad trip.

Anyways, here's advice that my older friends in academia like to use: lighten up, don't tighten up.
