Right now the global market is in a decent state, with Africa and India providing plenty of potential growth, especially in lower end luxuries like phones and computers, so I'm predicting more competition as companies from those regions start getting stronger, which hopefully will boost the graphics market, which currently is on the edge of a monopoly, however the oil prices and everything surrounding that might be worrisome, as much as people want STRONK RUSSIA to go bankrupt if they go under we might see some dire consequences, however geo-politics are a bit out of my league, I'm not an economist so I dont know all the detail, How this all effects the housing crisis, I'm not sure, right now the big problem is that our current housing model is getting outdated, the idea of having skilled professionals come around and build the entire house "Works" but its getting way too expensive for the average person, so we might be approaching a revolution in how we build houses, if and when a new innovative housing idea that is cheaper, takes less space and is generally more efficient, comes around it will probably come from India or china, where these issues will probably become MASSIVE issues in the near future, so having those places be stronger economically will increase the likelihood of that happening however in the foreseeable future i dont things are going to get much better, right now with the current cost of training labor its just too expensive to build more houses, that's not going to get solved unless the USA changes its school system to train more labor faster and cheaper, and even that wont solve the problem, but that will be a step in the right direction. the housing crisis is a multi-faceted problem that i cant really say much more on, i would have to put more time into researching it, but right now i dont have the time to.
