I’m 17 Australian and living off of welfare, I need advice for cheap healthy food

I find pasta super bloating so try not to eat it too much when I've stuck for cash. I've been eating a ton of polenta topped with garlic roasted veggies lately. A cup of polenta will last me easily 3-4 meals, and veggies are super cheap. Canned soups are also great by themselves or as rice/pasta toppings. You can also make a can of tomatoes go a long way - as pasta sauce, a curry base, etc. You can do super simple curries with that and some frozen veg and spices.

Also, a hack that I learned doing Live Below the Line is that a lot of grocery stores have a trolley of fruits and veg out the back that's perfectly good but they can't sell for whatever reason - usually bananas that don't have many days left, buckets of mushrooms, irregular apples. When I was doing the campaign, they'd bring it out and just have me fill bags and charge me a flat rate of each of them. If you're not scared of asking, they'll happily give it to you.
