It is very scary to seek any form of help for this affliction, even harder to seek professional help. If you’re in the US, maybe even other countries, I am pretty sure as long you make it clear you have not offended or plan to offend, a therapist should not, cannot report you - nothing bad should happen to you.

Now, I am going to be honest, I am betting most therapists you may comes across, sadly, may not be well versed, trained, or experienced in treating this affliction. However that shouldn’t stop you from seeking help. If you don’t like your therapist, ask for referral to another one (but keep your circle small). The best thing you can do is look specifically for an ATSA certified therapist; they would be specially trained in treating pedophilic interests, including for non-offenders, and people in your situation
