Is he really "living" for his games, or does he simply unwind in his downtime by playing games and you just don't like it because you feel like you should jave constant attention?

I see a lot of these "my SO plays too many video games" and what it really ends up being is that he plays video games in his downtime as a relaxing hobby, and it does not interfere with his abilities as a father or husband, and she just doesn't like the fact that he enjoys video games.

What do you do in your down time? Is it somehow better or more productive than what he does?

It sounds like you settled into a normal functional marriage and that the normal monotony of a home life is something you don't like and now you are blaming yoir husband for it.
