I completely disagree with it. First of all, why is a credit score more important to certain people than having money in your pocket to buy supplies to buy groceries and keep a roof over your head? At the moment, my husband is still working but at any second his hours could get cut, he could get laid off or they could be told to stay home. My rent is still due as the people we rent from don’t give a single fuck that people are losing their jobs and in turn, their income, over this.
Secondly, it’s not the government’s problem to pay back your debt. When you get a CC or any kind of loan for that matter, you promise to pay back all of it. The government didn’t make me get a CC with a $5,000 limit to get me through a really tough time then force me to not make a payment (yet). I did that so it’s my responsibility to pay them back which in turn puts money back into the company’s pocket and ups my credit score.
Lastly (probably a majorly unpopular opinion), going to a university isn’t a necessity. You can go to a trade school or start at a company like my husband did that will teach you everything you need to know and you can make a career out of it. So many people think you need a degree, go to college for some fuck shit like liberal arts then can’t find a job. It’s no one else’s fault but your own that you went to an overly priced school for something that isn’t even useful.
