I’m just going to leave this here..

They are not at odds. Hitting on someone isn’t the same as saying “hi” and striking up conversation. I went to a party this weekend and started conversations with two strangers, I don’t think either of them believed I was hitting on them.

All I’m saying is, it seems that men have more trouble figuring out when an interaction is welcome or not. Which seems like a problem for men to sort out. It doesn’t mean women are just incapable of understanding what’s happening. On the contrary, a lifetime of needing to weed out creeps from non-creeps has made us quite perceptive. You don’t have to be an “expert” at body language, you just have to care and pay attention. Even children know how to read body language, it’s not some skill you need to spend a lifetime developing.
