I’m a little bit thrown off by the Jim Jones controversy

it's not just that the event had racial implications, it was also that he manipulated and killed around 900 people. the racial implications are as a white man he used the ideas of the civil rights movement to manipulate black people and make them trust him, he promised a post racial utopia, a large majority of the people he killed were black, many of them mothers who went to live with him with their children, many kids died. he also used socialism and anti capitalism as forms of manipulation and he also manipulated elders, basically all kinds of vulnerable people, especially at the time. and made them live with him away from everything and work with little food. and lied to the people who wanted to go back saying in america they were putting black people in concentration camps. it's not that suga should've known the racial implications, just the part of him having killed around 900 people should've been enough to think maybe including a speech by him could be insensitive. but the racial implications of the acts of the mass murderer who was a white man make the thing especially insensitive for a hip hop track. personally i read some of the transcrips of the speeches he sampled and it's very apparent the way he manipulated black people and elders. it could've flied under his radar as he's not fluent in english, but it's very apparent. i don't know if i'm explaining all of this well but i hope you understand the idea and why people mention this part.
