I’m not worried that some random Black people are anti-Asian. I’m worried that they are getting tens of thousands of likes.

not saying that. and i'm still not a marxist. but thanks?

i think racial politics have merit, a lot in fact in settler colonial societies.

however i dont think wokeness or any of the current racial discourse arising from critical theory is actually doing doing anything other than compartmentalising and silo-ing demographics into single issues and ultimately funneling them into electoral politics.

and i read critical theory- and i find it often interesting, but rarely does it deal with issues of power unless to fundamentally seek to re position one group as subordinated to another. grace lee boggs talked all about this. internal colonialism.

it does not address either the asian diaspora or mixed people (and mixed asians specifically) and it allows some groups higher positionalities relating to the performance of trauma and their prominence in liberal circles.

i also think aside from indigenous peoples- who basically seek to have treaties upheld and crown/BLM land returned using the model of indigenous land management, that most racial issues could be addressed using a raise all boats approach. both in concert would uphold ecological personhood and the value of persons on the land.
