I’m a junior at CAS and I’m well aware of how liberal NYU is. And I know to never express my political viewpoints because these so called ‘tolerant’ people would ridicule me and I’m really not up for that. At the same time, when these discussions do come up, I casually bring up my viewpoints in a confused, ‘that-makes-sense-but-...’ manner which manifests as left leaning. And I sort bring up those arguments—but I do not hint that I making them to prove my points of view. I’ve met four students who eventually admitted to being republicans that way and we sort of ended up being really close friends. Unfortunately, I also lost two friends in one of those discussions which was actually a group discussion.
