I’m really confused on what I need to do for my license lol

That page states that if you’re over the age of 18, you still need to hold a learners permit for 30 days before taking the Drivers exam. This law is new, it changed just a few years ago.

If you do not go through a State Accredited Driving School, you’ll need to take a written test and pass with and 80% or higher to get the permit. You’ll also need to re-take this written test whenever you go to take your drivers exam. If you go through a Drivers Ed. program, you do not have to take any written tests.

Bring two forms of ID (birth certificate, Social Security card, State/Military ID) with you to the DPS. They’ll administer the written tests and an eye exam and enter you into the DPS system. After you pass, you’ll goto a Tag Agency to get your picture taken and get permit.
