I’m. Resident of Melrose/fairfax and own a biz in WehO what I saw last night was not a protest

Many businesses, especially retail businesses, especially mom and pop shops, have lost tens of thousands if not tens of millions of dollars due to the COVID shutdown, and because it's a pandemic their insurance policy will not pay out for loss of revenue because there is no physical damage to their merchandise or property.

Now that there are riots and people looting and destroying property, all these retail shops and companies can now file claims for damages and loss of revenue that may actually exceed the amount of revenue they lost from COVID shutdowns.

This looting is obviously pre-planned, there are bricks being left out for protesters to use, there are multiple police and paid mercenaries on video breaking windows, setting buildings on fire, whether or not they even know it, this is manufactured to benefit certain business owners. Keep track of which stores are being looted in each city, there will likely be a pattern of the same chain of stores being targeted in each city, owned by the same people/shareholders, so they can file insurance claims for lost revenue and damages.

COVID is preventing a lot of businesses from claiming revenue loss with their insurance companies because it's a "pandemic" (how convenient). But theft and property damage are covered under most business liability insurance policies. Believe it or not, this looting and damage is going to benefit a lot of businesses that have lost revenue because of the COVID shutdown, including mom and pop shops.

It's..... wild.
