You are extremely privileged if your life will not change. You must not rely on the ACA for health insurance, you must not need SNAP to help feed your family, you must not be brown or black, you must not be a woman, you must not be gay or trans. You must not be older or immunocompromised while this pandemic rages out of control under incompetent leadership. How nice it must be to feel your life, health, and future is secure regardless of whether or not a hateful sociopath runs the country you're living in. Significant, terrifying changes have already happened in the past four years, and have been planned for the next four - it's not as if we're just theorizing here, people have been gravely harmed and it's only getting worse for a large percentage of Americans.

Democrats may not fix everything and yeah they're still primarily a bunch of rich white dudes but at least they pretend to care and it means a little bit of compassion trickles down into the policies that effect all our lives. Oh, and they will, you know, generally abide by the actual laws of government, which have been broken left and right so much in the past four years we can't even keep track of it. So there's some accountability, at least, if they go too far.
