So I’m a teen but I have a question that I would like parents to Awnser and couldn’t find the right subreddit.

I think that there's a point (especially when you are a teenager) that you have to trust that SOMEONE knows more than you. There's a good chance that your parent or parents went through something growing up and can help you through your something.

Respect is kind of a fake it until you make it scenario. You should respect your parent(s) but you may not actually feel like you respect them until much later in life. Don't talk back, don't be rude, don't shout - if you have parents that aren't worthy of respect, doing those things will just make things worse. If you have parents that ARE worthy of respect, you'll be much happier later knowing that you didn't do those things to them.

Parents shouldn't have to earn their children's respect. That being said, parents shouldn't assume that they get to keep that respect if they're not good people.
