I’m so tired of Disney’s bullshit

This type of shit is what makes me hate Disney (and other companies who gobble up creative licenses).

There's literally no reason to do this other than the author being a huge narcissist. It's just the writer making the story about him and how he's gonna make it his own story rather than adapt what's been put in front of him.

Darth Plagueis was never really delved into heavily. He was Palpatine's mentor, learned how to save others from dying, and was killed by Palpatine. That's it. We don't know how he became a sith lord, why he was obsessed with cheating death, or why he chose Sheev Palpatine as an apprentice. There's a myriad of storytelling opportunity there that can riff on familiar themes and locations as well as brand new ones.

If you can't find enough milage in that to turn into your own story, then you're a piece of shit hack writer who's more interested in self-fellation than expanding massively popular lore and stories. This shit happens all the time to other comic book and superhero adaptations as well, and I just hate how these writers and publishers feel like they have to eschew everything for the sake of putting their own personal mark on it. Keep the lore in tact and write a good story. It's not that hard.
