After the first paragraph I thought this was going to be about you finding out about her meth addiction. My boyfriend of four years was also a meth addict when I met him (didn’t find out until 8 months after) and all of these things sounds like something a drug dealer would do. He was obsessed with getting new cars and would do crazy, unreasonable/financially irresponsible things. He was also admitted so a psych ward after a year for trying to give his car away and putting battery acid in his eyes.

I don’t think she’s mentally insane, but just a drug addict (kind of goes hand in hand when on drug). It’s a very hard thing to through in a relationship but my SO is now two years clean. The first year of him being sober was very rocky but after that it has been so much better.
