Thanks responding, to be honest, I'm almost entirely new to writing and this was just an experiment to see if what I found interesting would draw in anyone else. And it seems to have, so I'm glad you contacted me!

I would love to see a sample of your own writing, perhaps an exploration of how your character came to the same village, on the hunt of the same contract? There was only one point where we come into close proximity, in the inn, so that would be the only (necessary) intersection.

I haven't though much beyond this single post in terms of writing style, as 1st vs 3rd person, or past vs present. I wrote it as 1st person past for the initial post as I felt most comfortable with it as a standalone post, but perhaps the present tense would work better?

And if I'm being straightforward, I've never done a serious RP before, so I don't have any experience as to what styles work best, or even the tools used to convey the info. So if you're more experience than I am, I would be open to your input for the style.

I'll also mention I'm taking a lot of inspiration from the Witcher series, such as for the monsters and other details.

I also realize I haven't described my character very well, so I'll just tack that on here.

He's just shy of 6 feet tall, lean and wiry, broad shouldered, his hair cropped short. His face is tan and weathered, while sporting stubble from the road. He's a trained swordsman, sporting two swords, one regular steel, the other an enchanted silver blade. He also has rudimentary magical skills, the ability to project fire, enhance his speed and reflexes, to freeze enemies in place, and project a wave of force. He's usually gruff with most people, having seen a lot of death in his life, some dealt to him, and some he's dealt to others. But to those he lets close into his inner circle, he trusts completely and absolutely. He simply travels the world, looking for something that doesn't have a name, taking bounties to survive.
