I sympathize with both your brother and the patient but would never actually go if I wasn’t feeling well.

It’s incredibly frustrating needing to cancel appointments for “elective” procedures due to potential exposure. Some of these appointments take months on waiting lists to get. This is especially frustrating when you work in a place where you can’t quarantine for 10 days before it and are potentially exposed (and have the potential for needing to quarantine or get tested) every day.

I have had to reschedule mine twice since mid September. This procedure drastically changes my qualify of life in all ways when I get it done.I need this medication to live anywhere near a good quality of life. It is considered an “elective” procedure because of I don’t get it it is not technically life threatening (because fuck the fact that my mental health decreases dramatically if I don’t get it...).

I got it a few weeks before lockdown in the spring and then had to wait until the end of June for it to be available again/get an appointment for it. Those were literally the worst months I’ve had with this disease in a decade.

I really hope that whoever it was in this thread saying that after 700 in hospitals they stop elective procedures is incorrect. I have my next one scheduled for Tuesday. I will be ripshit if I don’t get it because podunk trumpeter asshole antimaskers can’t be bothered to put a piece of motherfucking cloth over their mouth and nose when in public because it violates their rights.
