I made a map to compare the Chinese topolects (HD SVG file and additional notes in comments)

It seemed odd to me, too, and I don't think it's insensitive or rude at all. Most dialects depicted are on the mainland, most foreign chinese learners learn simplified. There's nothing wrong with traditional, but its an absolutely valid question. And I've been on this sub for long enough to know that every person who argues in the slightest for simplified or against traditional, or who even just asks for simplified because they cannot read traditional - as is the case here probably - gets downvoted like crazy.

If you think this sub does NOT need to check itself, thats fine. But do consider that there are people who feel there's quite the anti-ccp protaiwan bubble here. Very annoying for people like me who just enjoy chinese, happen to have learned simplified, and dont want the politics.
