Made a mistake buying an i5 6500

No point in crying over broken eggs, so instead lets talk about how you can mitigate the problem. First you want to increase the gpu's load as much as possible, that means playing at higher resolution (via dsr if your still at 1080p) and cranking all possible graphics settings to the maximum, the less fps you produce the less the cpu will bottleneck and in return you get more graphical fidelity and eye candy. Set your cpu settings in power management to maximum performance so you don't have more stutters than necessary by having your cpu dynamical clock up and down. Undervolt your 1070, save on power, heat, noise and reduce its performance slightly to again reduce that cpu bottleneck, trust me sounds crazy but a weaker graphics card won't have you stutter all the time, it feels counter intuitive but it works. If all this still doesn't work then go into riva tuner and start capping the fps... ( this is the worst possible feeling but it gets rid of the stutters from bottle necking in those really bad scenarios, like geothermal valley in rise of tomb raider and italian and greek maps on battlefield ). I'm very sorry you where mis-lead into purchasing a 6500, especially because a 1070 is such a nice card. Others have suggested and i will repeat, try to sell it and get a 1600 at the very least next time. best of luck friend.
