I made a paper flower for a friend's bouquet

Here are the shapes of the petals you will need. Sorry for the wonky coloring, I was able to find these shapes and found they worked better than some of the thinner ones I used. I marked them in sequence going from the inner petals (A), middle petals (B), and outer petals (C), along with the amount of each one you will need.

All I needed to create the flower was the cardstock (though crepe paper would look amazing), some craft glue, and one of those small wooden skewers.

  • Use the wooden skewer to roll the tips of each petal whichever way you would like them facing.

  • Again, use the skewer and roll the lower, flat portion of petal A so that it looks like a small, tight funnel, and use the glue to secure.

  • Wrap another A on the opposite side of your original petal, glue in place, and then repeat with your last A petal on either side of the two petals and glue again.

  • Continue rolling the base of each B and C petals around the base of the "funnel" created with the A petals while securing each one with glue. You can add more of each type of petal depending on how full you want your flower to look, and again, you can choose to roll the scalloped ends of your petal either inwards or outwards based on your liking.

  • Once the glue has dried, gently fluff the petals outwards using your fingers to give it a fuller effect.

It doesn't show it in the pictures, but I used green floral wire folded like this, feeding the ends through the very center of my flower, and then twisted them to look like a stem. I'm in the process of making some leaves as well, and will post when I get them finished. I hope I explained it well enough! If not I can take some step-by-step images for a tutorial soon and post.
