Fun Fact: Byte magazine was created by a guy named Wayne Green, who was an amazingly succesful businessman who had a damn good eye on the future.
Before Byte magazine there really wasn't much out there to cover computers. Wayne already ran a "HAM radio" magazine called "73" and he was slowly integrating computer articles into his magazine. The articles became so popular that he decided to spin off a new one, Byte. Another reason was because the die hard HAM radio guys didn't like seeing computer articles in 73.
The response to computer-type articles in 73 has been so enthusiastic that we here in Peterborough got carried away. On May 25th we made a deal with the publisher of a small (400 circulation) computer hobby magazine to take over as editor of a new publication which would start in August ... Byte.
