Quip

Very Rare Magic Item (Requires Attunement)

This spear resembles a giant feathered quill. In truth, it began its life as the feathered quill of a giant. Its creator, a stone giant poetess and smith, sought to bring life to the phrase "The quill is mightier than the sword."

You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Quip comes with an inkwell that doubles as its sheath. It has 10 drops of ink, and regains 1d6 + 4 each dawn.

You can use your action and expend drops of ink to cast Illusory Script (1 drop) or Skywrite (2 drops) from Quip.

Additionally, when you hit a creature with Quip, you can expend 1 drop of ink to stain the target. While stained in this way the target cannot benefit from being invisible, it has disadvantage on Perception checks, and other creatures have advantage on Survival checks to locate it. The ink disappears after 8 hours, or if the creature bathes in clean water for an hour.

A creature can be stained with more than 1 drop of ink at once. While within 30 feet of a creature stained with at least 3 drops, you may use your bonus action to remove 3 drops of ink from the target and force it to make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw. If it fails, you write that creature's next move: It is subjected to a command of your choice as if you had cast the Command spell on it. A creature does not need to understand your language to be subjected to this effect.
