Maher on Orlando: Why Aren’t Liberals Denouncing Violence Against Gays in Muslim Nations?

you are not prepared for a diverse society

Not one where diversity means that i have to see gays and couples kissing and petting on the streets. Well on the other side i live in the west. Nothing can suprise me anymore. Its not like i am the one yelling at gay couples lol. I don't even mind it, its one of the least things which bother me. I am just stating what a family would ideally look like for me and no one is gonna care what i think here anyway.

Islamic treatment of women is patriarchal by nature.

It is. But many people have this burqa pictures in their mind and think she has the worst life and is never allowed to communicate with anyone and have fun. Well that's not the case. She can have quite a fulfilling live if she marries a good husband, and not some abusive one.

Honestly even in the female autonomy world. When she marries someone abusive. I guess she will divorce herself and marry again. But then the kids suffer. Also he might have had just some bad episode because of hard work. This way they can never come to terms. Once divorced they probably already found other partners. Its not like one of this two things is absolutely the better choice. But of course woman should be able to chose what is better for them.

religious skepticism is certainly not a component of the Abrahamic tradition

Actually in islam its pretty ok to not be religious and doubt things. Its written that we supposed to be as muslimic as we can and that there will always be doubt. One of the most written passages in quran is that god is forgiving. I guess this passage is why some people also think that they do whatever they want and still get away with it.

But i guess i understand where u come from. One of the first things a muslim says is that there is one god and one last prophet. So i guess many think that if you question this then you not muslimic anymore. Thats not the case. This is just setting in stone what is islam, like a definition. Not forbidding you skepticism.

There are also lots of passages about straying from path and finding the path yourself. Mostly you are supposed to find it yourself but you will always have the means to walk it when you chose. Also one of the things which i like the most is that its stated that once someone gets away from his path you cannot bring him back. Only he himself can. Well this is off topic but nvm.
