Actually technically this is pre "Declaration of Independence", so we wouldn't mention any violence the occurred beforehand because our entire narrative is that Israel was just wanting freedom one day when mean Arabs poo poor ed on their party for no reason. Never would it be mentioned any pre existing state of violence, that half the mass transfera occurred before "independence", or energy that the Yishuv had at the time a large and impressive militia more than a match for any Arab nation in the region..we instead like to have schoolchildren imagine that it didn't have a military and built it from scratch when it was soooo surprisingly attacked by endless oriental hordes for absolutely no reason after having done nothing wrong and definitely didn't want to ethnically cleanse the area. That was just a happy coincidence. Actually they left because they were planning for their guys to kill us or some other blah blah blah, heard it all before.
