Major Insurance Companies Are Refusing to Cover Hyundai and Kias Because They're Stolen Too Much

I don’t, but countless others do. Ever hear Carlin’s bit about the intelligence level of the average Joe? Think about how stupid the average person is, then remember, half of them are dumber than that.

I guarantee half the folks walking into a Kia dealer have no clue what an immobilizer even is, or that they are not standard equipment in your country, or that there is a major theft problem occurring.

Consumers shouldn’t be expected to have perfect product knowledge to protect themselves from being fucked. Sometimes the purpose of regulation is to product the stupid from being preyed upon by sellers looking to cut corners….like in this example.

This is just another in a long line of capitalist choosing the most profitable route at the expense of the public good. They will never make the ethical decision unless it is also the most profitable one, or they are forced to by regulations.
