As usual with people who share an opinion similar to yours, your post suggests that you only follow and pay attention to a small subset of top 40 pop music which absolutely does not represent or speak for the "majority" of the genre the way you believe it does. There are countless modern hip hop artists who do not use autotune, have complex production with live instrumentation and even play instruments themselves while performing. You're just not aware of any of these artists because you don't actually follow or pay attention to the genre outside of the very limited exposure through whatever channels you're using.

Here's something to consider. The autotune/pop subgenre you have an issue with is at least a relatively new sound and style that has only surfaced and become prevalent in the past 5-10 years or so. People are attracted to it because it's new and different unlike Metal where most new artist sound like they're tryign to recycle a sound and style created decades ago. Metal artists has failed to evolve and mature the genre in any meaningful way which is why it's fading into obscurity while genres like Hip hop and pop evolve and become more popular than ever before.
