US makes preparations to sail warship into Black Sea amid Russia-Ukraine tensions

Fair enough. I'm not informed enough on the Azov Sea to have an opinion about the specifics.

I could see this being a special scenario that leads the US to take more aggressive action than they would have otherwise though. Sort of like how the US took a group of ships through the Taiwan Strait after China nearly rammed one of it's ships. At least for this specific exercise, I wouldn't use the behavior of the past few years as a marker.

Is the Sea of Azov firmly under Russian control or is it the sort of thing where Ukraine and Russia shared it, but Russia won and has control now?

Either way, I'm confident that neither the US or Russia will do something stupid enough to escalate into a real war haha.
