Making brownies for my mum's birthday. Recipe recommendations please!

cream together * 2 eggs * 1/2 cup vegetable oil * 1 cup sugar

mix together * 1 cup flour * 1/3 cup dark cocoa powder * 2/3 cup dark chocolate chips (gharadelli 60% is my goto) * 1 tbsp vanilla * 1 tbsp baking powder

Preheat oven to 350F. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet. Butter or crisco an 8x8 or 9x13 pan so the brownies don't stick. 20-22 min if you like your brownies a bit gooey but still done (passes the toothpick test). 24 min if you like them more cakey.

You can take this base and jazz it up if you want.

1/2 cup of your favorite nuts.

Sprinkle (unsweetened) shredded coconut on top after you put the batter in the pan.

You can go christmas theme and add some peppermint extract to the batter and sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top.

You could top with your favorite frosting.
