I am not trying to fight with you either, but I do have misgivings about your proposal, which I will describe to you.

You could build a fake e-meter, something that could be used as a prop in a movie about Scientology. It just has to look like an e-meter to fool people, if the only thing an e-meter does is fool people. Right? All the electrical components are superfluous. Of course, to really get the same kind of results that an auditor gets, you would still have to know how to audit. The fake e-meter might fool people, but if you do not deliver the correct auditing commands, or otherwise screw up the auditing procedure, your preclear will notice, at least, if the preclear has any knowledge of Scientology. You could also recruit as your experimental subject someone who knows nothing about Scientology and then use a fake auditing technique with your fake e-meter - but what would that prove? At that point your experiment actually has nothing to do with Scientology and you have invented your own substitute cult. I, as a fully trained auditor, could actually do that kind of experiment, but I honestly think that it would be unethical of me to lie to the preclear by claiming to have a working e-meter and indicating readings (such as "your needle is floating" which is something that would be said at least once in any successful auditing session) when in reality I was not using an actual e-meter. Auditing means something to the preclear even if it means nothing to you. So I really do not see how this experiment is going to work out. If you choose as your experimental subject someone who actually knows that you are a fake auditor using a fake e-meter, you are not going to get that effect you are looking for, which happens because the preclear believes in the e-meter.
