Making r/semiFI more popular

There's a lot of truth in what you said.

I do find the FIRE threads frustrating in that they only really cater to people who have/are accumulating a large sum. And index invest. Anyone else with a different approach is largely shutdown or ignored in equal measure.

In my case, accumulating such large sums seems unlikely. Developing digital assets that eventually become income producing, along with developing new sites to replace the ones that die off, seems far more likely.

Stashing away surplus money after reinvesting some of the income in operating expenses provides money for growth or buying other assets (digital/stocks, etc.)

I'm in my 40's. If I was to tell my 20yo self to just save enough to hit cruise control, I would say don't do it. It's infinitely harder, physically and mentally, to continue working at an older age. Get it done and over with while you have your youth. Cos you'll older soon enough and then you cannot keep up anything like the pace you could when younger.

It's very difficult to have the benefit of that perspective when younger. You just can't see it, cannot imagine and have few frames of reference for jt.
