Males of reddit, what's your worst story about a stranger assuming you have malicious intent towards a child?

About 15 years ago, when I was 21 or 22 years old, I drove my buddy to an Urgent Care. It was around 7pm, so we had to find one that was open 24 hours. We found one, but it was at a place I wasn't familiar with. Instead of going inside with him, I dropped him off, went to a gas station and bought some Tostitos and jalapeño cheddar dip. I drove back to the Urgent Care, backed into a parking spot, turned on the radio, and the show, Love Lines (I think that's what it was called with Dr. Drew and Adam Carolla) was on.

I opened the bag of chips, cracked open the top of the jalapeño cheddar, and started dipping. So...I'm enjoying the chips and cheese while laughing my ass off at the show...I'm talking to the radio, shaking my head at the stories...I was having fun in my own world.

All of a sudden, I hear a knock at my drivers side window. I look up mid crunch, expecting to see my friend, but it was a police officer. He asked what I was doing there and I said, waiting for my friend to get out of the doctor's office. He starts shining his flashlight up and down on me, and all around the car. Finally, he tells me they got a couple calls about me, that some people thought I was up to no good. I was super confused...I asked why would anybody call on me...for what?

He then points his flashlight in the direction of the building...and that's when everything made sense.

My car was parked at the back of the parking lot...about 200 feet away from the entrance of the Urgent Care and....a fricken dance studio for kids!! Even after he pointed it out, I was still lost. I'm like, what does that have to----then, I swear, it all hit me. It was like everything disappeared--except for the front of that dance studio. There were little kids walking in and out of it...dressed in their dancing outfits. Even though I was doing NOTHING wrong, my heart sank and I got nervous. I kept saying, I was just eating chips...that's all.

Apparently, some of the parents saw me and thought I may have been up to no good, so they called the police.

The police officer could see that I wasn't doing anything disgusting. He said it would be best if I parked somewhere else. I said, yes sir and left the strip mall altogether.

I drove around the block a few times feeling like I was in trouble and maybe I should go inside the dance studio to let everybody know I'm not a creep, but I didn't.

Then I remembered I had to pick up my friend. I actually thought about calling another friend to go pick him up, but I didn't do that either. I went back and saw him sitting on the curb. He opened the car door, brushed all the spilled chips out, and sat down. I got out of there as fast as I could.

TL; DR: I was unaware of my surroundings and some people mistook me as a creep.
