Man recording domestic dispute pulls gun in self defense.

You are missing the point here.

The situation would never have occurred in the first place had he either:

A) recorded from a distance where it was not obvious or B) backed down when asked and then continued to record when at a safe distance.

The fact that he continued to refuse when he was in the presence of 4 drunk people obviously leads one to believe that he did not have any fear of attack, I think most people who were unarmed in that situation would have made a far better judgement call and just called the police.

This guy could have killed someone over a personal argument that they were having among themselves because he felt he had a right to intervene.

You know about these situations from experience, there is a major difference between someone who is getting dragged off to be murdered than there is a drunk girl crying on a night out - the latter can be seen any night of the week and any barman here will confirm this. Alcohol causes people to get emotional, it is a side effect of the drug, and that is what this was. He did not realize this, and as I said while his intentions were good, and there was a possibility that he may have seen something criminal potentially about to occur, how he went about resolving and intervening in this situation was wrong, and he could have been responsible for killing someone innocent.

This is why there is a police system. Had he shot some that girl only to realize she was a drunk college student, or mother, or someones fiance who got too emotional on a night out I don't think anyone in this thread would be arguing on his side.

There would have been no need for him to pull this gun and risk peoples lives had he done this properly. He is not trained to handle there situations, and his sheer invasive behavior is suggesting he wanted this to get views on Youtube from the start.

I acknowledge that the people in this video were wrong to attempt to attack him, however if you think that it is completely unjustified I think you need to go on a night out sometime, get pissed drunk, and see how you feel waking up the next day seeing yourself on youtube because of an argument you got into with your SO with some vigilante deciding to video it, and pull on a gun on you.
