The man who followed me home...

That is awful! It reminds me of a creepy experience I had a few years ago, which wasn't nearly as bad as yours.

I was visiting Downtown Spokane (WA, US), walking to meet a friend at night to grab a drink. I was familiar with the downtown area (I briefly lived in the city in the 2000s), but in that neighborhood (from Lincoln to Howard, between 1st and 2nd), I always get turned around for some reason, and I accidentally parked in a bad area.. and walked the wrong direction. It was here - I parked on the Howard side, and mistakenly crossed the parking lot and walked down Wall. It was dark (11pm or so), and practically deserted at that time of night.

So, rather than turning around and walking through the parking lot, I stupidly decided to just pass under the bridge, and take a right to head in the proper direction the next block down. But as I'm walking, I notice a guy with a black hoodie fairly close behind me. No big deal, he probably doesn't mean harm, and I didn't want to overreact. So I grabbed my knuckle piece which has two sharp, piercing projections (I call them kitty knuckles).

I decided to walk "with purpose" and a steady pace, with my hand in my bag ready to go, but I heard the guy getting closer (he had chains on his pants). So I picked up the pace, and didn't panic until I heard his chains moving faster (and closer), as I was halfway under the bridge.

At which point, I took my hand out of the bag with my stupid knuckle thing on, and shot a nasty look over my shoulder in the direction of his face.. but he was gone.
