As a Mancunion working through my anxiety and depression thought I would post this here, my gp got me a referral for cbt but help is out there so try not to suffer in silence. Whether it's meds , cbt or both your GP can really help.

Hello, I thought I’d just chime in. Anxiety and depression are very complex issues to solve. I’ve suffered from very debilitating anxiety/ depression a few times in my life. Usually lasting a few years each time. But for me personally I’ve found that it can be fixed holistically.

Anxiety is like an ‘on/off’ switch in your brain that can be caused from a whole range of traumas (mental or physical). So, the goal is to switch it off. For me (again just from Experience) I’ve found that you can switch it off by changing up almost everything about how you’re living. Eating only healthy food like salads, vegetables and unprocessed meats. Working out and exercising a lot, and taking up fulfilling hobbies and goals. It sounds almost absurdly simple, but it genuinely does work. I’d recommend therapy too if you have specific traumas.

You want to get out of the negative cycle as fast as you can, the longer you leave it - the harder it is going to be to fix. Obviously drugs can be helpful too, but I think if you can truly address the things that are making you unhappy, you’ll be able to feel like yourself again.

Sorry about the ramble, but that’s just from my experience and worked for me.

Hope you (and anyone else reading) can feel better!
