The identity of the father—i.e. someone she wouldn’t normally have children with—must add to her suffering, too.

Because there is no rush, unlike the pregnancy. She doesn’t love the guy, as we both agree, and there is no need for her to get officially tied to him.
You're contradicting yourself here. First, you're saying that Historia sees the farmer as a good guy and wants him to be there for the child. I.e. not dying in a few years. But right after that you're saying that Historia wants it all to end soon and the farmer is just a sрerm bank so she doesn't want to marry him.
Where is the contradiction? She is the monarch, she doesn’t have to marry anyone as long as she isn’t forced to. For all we know, she’s sort of winging it at the moment. That kid won’t have a happy family life no matter what happens at this moment. Maybe she doesn’t know if she will survive this. Maybe she just chose the most available, “decent” guy that has a chance at a normal life.
