[Manga Spoilers] Why I struggle to sympathise with them

Eren targeted officials, true. Still, he purposefully used the lives of innocent civilians to make sure Reiner would keep quiet, and killed them once their role done.
In the same manner, RBA's target was the leader, king Fritz. Like Eren did, they used the lives of innocent civilians to lure Fritz out. Both Eren and RBA used the exact same method: while civilians were not their primary target, they used their deaths to reach the ennemy leader figure.
Reiner's delusions of grandeur asides, you forget that they were all convinced that very soon, Paradis would destroy the world with the Rumbling. Paradis was in their eyes a litteral ticking bomb, and by taking the walls down, they were saving the billions of humans in the world.

I'm not saying all war is bad, and Marley clearly doesn't have the moral high ground in this story. But when it comes to your Eren's actions specifically and how you decide to detach it completely from what RBA did themselves, there I disagree. Eren killed civilians like RBA did. They were not his target but that wasn't the case for RBA either. Eren did it to save his loved ones like RBA did. RBA knew that what they were killing innocents during the Trost attack (and not Shiganshina's), Eren knew he was killing innocent people too.
