Is the manga worth reading?

I think the list of good and bad things about this manga are interchangeable. It really depends on your taste.

In my opinion, here are I think basic tenants of this manga:

1) The story is simple.

2) The story is predictable.

3) The characters fit neatly into archetypes. Fortunately, in my opinion, they don't have a token annoying friend in the mix.

4) The characters' motivations and personalities are well-defined.

5) The action and drama is very shoenen-esque.

6) The pace of the writing is faster than you'd expect.

7) The world has some mysteries, but everything seems to make sense.

This isn't going to be a groundbreaking manga, like a Chainsaw Man. Or, a world building magnum opus like One Piece. This is a well-written, fun, and charming romp through a standard shoenen manga.

Someone once agreed with me and commented that it is like Demon Slayer. It's not doing anything new. It's just doing it really well. I agee, but I'd like to add that you should not expect a Demon Slayer level of flashiness. It is similar in that it is very character driven, and it has many satisfying moments. Kafka is fun to root for because we can easily see ourselves in his shoes. He's not like a Luffy. Luffy is fun to root for because he's a slightly crazy goofy badass.
