Fan translation’s are not correct either haykuju kaizokudan mean’s all animal pirates not beast pirates when jinbe was first introduced back around 2010 and 2011 mangastream was spelling his name as jimbei way before the english translation came out let’s talk about the mink dukes neko = cat mamushi = viper inu = dog arashi = storm i can go on about all the mistakes and misconceptions that fan translations have created rafter but basically you have a stupid reason for not supporting the author and industry in favour of piracy you don’t know what a good translation is because you can’t speak or read the language your whole judgement is based on what sounds better or cooler in english but what sounds better is not necessarily correct im not saying i know the language fluently either but after living in fukuoka for the past 2 years teaching english i have started to pick up on japanese and i can assure you the viz translations for the most part are more accurate the problem is their accuracy leads to mediocre english but it’s not unbearable as you say to the point that you have to promote bootleg copies
