Manhattan Rite Aid pharmacy closing after rash of thefts, customers and workers say

Have been to this specific store many times. Shoplifting is ridiculous everywhere now but this store is in an especially odd one and kind of made for it. It is in an area of about equal parts residential, offices, and tourists—and two of those three have not fully come back yet. The majority of the street-level stock was snacks and convenience store groceries with the regular pharmacy stuff below-grade and down a long escalator. Downstairs, the aisles are congested and there is no way to see what the person in the next aisle is doing. Just a bad design overall with no lines of sight in any part of the store. The detectors near the doors also went of ALL the time, and to the point where no one even looked up.
