Maniac Drivers

Last year I was driving down Concordia when I witness the greatest display of road rage I’ve ever seen. Two cars pull onto Concordia from a side street. The first guy stops at the stop sign, and the other car (a truck) is right behind him. The truck follows the first car through the stop sign not waiting his turn. He proceeds to ride the car in front hard before driving into the ONCOMING lane for a solid city block matching the other guys speed and yelling at him through his open window. The oncoming cars are forced to drive off the road themselves. Right before the stop sign at London the truck floors it and gets in front of the car. The truck driver starts to then go straight towards gateway (presumably because the car had no turn signal on). The car quickly turns left on London and then right onto Simpson Avenue. I’ve never seen someone drive so recklessly in an attempt to get away. The truck that had started going straight just fully cranks his wheel and does a Uturn over the oncoming lane and boulevard and starts to pursue the car. I continue straight and turn right onto gateway (I’m at the lights on Kimberly@Gateway). All of a sudden I see the car turn off Simpson towards me probably doing like 20-30 around the corner. Truck comes flying out behind him and now they’re both stopped behind me at the light. Guy in the truck gets out of his vehicle now that the car driver has nowhere to go. Car driver gets out and slams his door basically yelling at the guy like what the fuck are you doing. I could obviously tell he was scared and running on adrenaline but it was very obvious this guy was willing to get physical as he thought it was his only out. The light turned green and I left before seeing what happened. I got home and called the police as I had his license plate. I can still remember the feeling of fright. I wasn’t even the person being pursued. But I think about it weekly. How can someone be so reckless? So uncivilized? And these people live among us and pilot hunks of metal that drive around and weigh enough to kill someone.
