Manslaughter charges against Michigan shooter's parents break new legal ground

I think this is a clever way around 2nd amendment rights.

The parents (allegedly) illegally purchased a handgun for their 15-year-old minor child then left both the firearm and ammunition unsupervised and unsecured in a bedroom drawer.

Literally nothing about that scenario is protected by the Second Amendment.

• Michigan law: A person must be at least 18 years of age to hunt with (possess) a handgun.

• Michigan.gov: You may be criminally and civilly liable for any harm caused by a person less than 18 years of age who lawfully gains unsupervised access to your firearm if unlawfully stored. (pdf)
