Why do so many Christians accept the beliefs of Scientists as facts but not the beliefs of Buddhists, Taoists, Confucianists, Hindu's, or Muslims?

I imagine the idea of science being is repulsive to you as you were probable raised to believe in separation of church an state.

"science is a mechanism for understanding the world around us" That is my point Religion is a mechanism for understanding the world around us.

Extrapolation based upon .0000001 data is not really numerical science in my opinion. For example, take the age of the earth, which folks have been observing for perhaps a few thousand years, yet scientists think its ok to present as facts that they can know that the earth is approximately "4.54 ± 0.05 billion years (4.54 × 109 years ± 1%).[1][2][3][4] This dating is based on evidence from radiometric age dating of meteorite[5] material and is consistent with the radiometric ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_the_Earth

So lets say man has been making observations of the earth for 4540 years an based on that scientists have extrapolated to 4,540,000,000 year old earth, I see that as cognitive dissonance an extrapolating based on observations of .000001 of the potential information sample size which is non sense to me. I can understand the desire to want to extrapolate but to present it as facts without qualification is dishonest in my opinion.

In the case of the Earth to present radiometric dating of a single meteorite to date the Earth seems like there would be numerous issues potentially such as where has that meteorite been what possible spacial anomies might that meteorite have been exposed to? It seems an absurd leap of faith to me.

Lets talk about astronomy if you feel comfortable, how do they come up with a 13.82 billion year old universe plus or minus .1 billion years? Feel free to qualify everything so that we don't waste time picking apart known issues with the alleged fact.
